These guidelines apply whenever you use an AI feature of Indox: on the website, in our apps and browser extension, or through our API. AI features include AI Extract, Doc Chat, Summarize, translation, creating and editing decks with AI, and the AI tools in the PDF editor.
These guidelines are part of our Terms of Use. If you break them, we may refuse a request, remove content, restrict your access to AI features, or suspend or close your account.
Use AI Safely and Lawfully
Do not use AI features to create, request, edit or share:
- Sexual content involving minors, or anything that sexualizes minors. We report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC);
- Sexually explicit content, or intimate content about a person without their consent;
- Content that encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders;
- Threats, harassment, or content that attacks or demeans people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or another protected characteristic;
- Content that glorifies graphic violence, or supports terrorism or violent extremism;
- Instructions for weapons that can cause mass casualties, or malware and other code written to cause harm;
- Forged or altered identity documents, signatures, certificates, tax forms or financial records meant to deceive anyone;
- Scams, phishing, spam, or false information meant to mislead people, including about elections or public health;
- Content that misleadingly presents itself as coming from a real person or organization.
You also may not:
- Get around our safety filters, usage limits or credit system, including with prompt tricks;
- Access AI features with scripts, bots or other automation, except through our official API and under its terms;
- Use AI output to train or build a competing AI model or service.
Respect Other People’s Rights
Only submit files, text and images that you own or have permission to use. Do not use AI features to:
- Copy or reproduce someone else’s copyrighted work, trademark or brand without permission;
- Present AI output or someone else’s work as your own where that breaks the rules of your school, employer or publisher;
- Process another person’s personal information without a lawful reason, or reveal it without their consent.
If you believe content on Indox infringes your copyright, follow the notice procedure in our Terms of Use.
Protect Sensitive Information
When you use an AI feature, the content you select and the instructions you type are sent to third-party AI model providers so they can produce the result. Our Privacy Policy names those providers. We do not use your files or your prompts to train AI models.
Never enter passwords, API keys or other credentials. Enter the sensitive information below only when the task needs it, for example a tax form you ask AI to fill:
- Government ID numbers, such as a Social Security number or passport number;
- Bank account, card or other financial account details;
- Health or medical records;
- Someone’s precise location or home address.
Check AI Output Before You Rely on It
AI can be wrong. Output may be incomplete, out of date, biased or simply made up, and quality can be lower for some languages, scanned pages and handwriting. AI output does not represent the views of Indox or Nemati AI LLC.
- Review every result before you use, send, file or publish it;
- Check numbers, names, dates and citations against the source;
- Indox AI never signs a document for you. You decide what to accept, and you are responsible for what you do with the output;
- Say that content was made with AI wherever a law, a platform, or your school or employer requires it.
Not Professional Advice
AI output is general information. It is not legal, tax, financial, medical or other professional advice, and using an AI feature does not create a professional relationship with us. For decisions that matter, such as filing a tax return or signing a contract, ask a qualified professional.
Decisions About People
Do not use AI output as the only basis for a decision that significantly affects someone, such as hiring, firing, lending, insurance, housing, school admission or a legal matter. A person must review the information and make the decision.
Enforcement and Reporting
Our AI model providers run their own safety checks and may block a request. We act on the reports we receive and on signs of abuse. Depending on how serious a violation is, we may refuse the request, remove the content, restrict your AI features, or suspend or close your account. We report illegal content to the authorities where the law requires it.
To report misuse of an AI feature, email [email protected] with a description and, if you can, a link or screenshot. If you think we acted on your account by mistake, write to the same address; we review every appeal. Copyright claims follow the procedure in our Terms of Use.
Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these guidelines as our AI features and the law change. We list each change at the top of this page and update the “Last update” date. If you keep using AI features after a change, the updated guidelines apply to you.
