Rotating a PDF turns its pages in quarter turns so that sideways or upside-down pages read the right way up. This tool turns pages 90, 180 or 270 degrees clockwise. You can turn the whole document, or only the pages you list, such as 1-3,5. The page content is left alone, so text stays selectable and images are not recompressed. What changes is the direction each page is shown in. You download a new PDF with the same pages in the same order. A scan that is tilted by a few degrees needs a deskew tool, because rotation here works in quarter turns only.
The Rotation menu lists 90° clockwise, 180° and 270° clockwise, with 90° clockwise selected to begin with. A 270 degree clockwise turn gives the same result as a quarter turn to the left. Pick 180° for pages that went into a scanner upside down.
Type page numbers and ranges into Pages to rotate, separated by commas, for example 1-3,5. Leave the field empty and every page turns. A page you list twice still turns only once.
Form fields, bookmarks and attached files are carried into the rotated PDF. Pages stay in the same order, and none are added or removed.
A page number of zero, a number past the last page, or an entry that is not a number stops the job with an error. You are not handed a partly rotated file. Add the PDF again and correct the list.

A mistake in the list stops the job with an error, so you never receive a file where only some of the listed pages turned. Rotating one file takes no account.
