Make read-only fields editable
The tool runs one operation whose purpose is to make the form fields in your file editable again. Fields that refused input before can then take new values.

Files other than PDF are converted first. Signing in raises the size limit.
A PDF form can mark its fields as read-only. The boxes are still there and may already hold values, but a reader will not let you type in them. Unlock Forms sends your PDF through one operation that makes its form fields editable again and returns the result as a new PDF. There is nothing to set: add the file, press Run Unlock Forms and download the copy. Once the fields accept input, you can complete the form in your PDF reader or in Fill PDF Form. One form runs without an account. This tool deals with locked fields only. It is not a password remover, which is the job of Unlock PDF, and it does not fill the form for you. Use it on forms you own or have permission to change.
The tool runs one operation whose purpose is to make the form fields in your file editable again. Fields that refused input before can then take new values.
Under Options, Unlock Forms lists the output format, PDF, and nothing else to choose. The whole document is processed in one pass, with no field list to tick and no password to enter.
Fill PDF Form disables the box of any field the PDF marks as read-only. Unlock the form here first, then upload the unlocked copy there and type your answers.
When the unlock operation fails, the job stops and the page reports that it could not process the file. No download is offered in that case, so you are never handed a file the tool did not finish.
Drop the locked form on the upload box, or press Choose file and select it. The unlock takes one PDF per run, and Replace lets you swap a wrong file.
There is no option to choose first. Start the unlock and wait until the page says your PDF file is ready.
Choose Download, open the copy and click into a field that was locked. If it takes your typing, carry on in your reader or in Fill PDF Form.

Several different things can stop you from typing into a PDF form, and indox keeps a separate tool for each. A password that blocks opening the file belongs to Unlock PDF. Document permissions, including the Allow filling forms setting, belong to Change Permissions. Fields that are individually marked read-only belong to this page. Because of that split, Unlock Forms asks for nothing: no password, no field list and no settings. It also fits into a short chain of form tools. Unlock the fields here, type your answers in Fill PDF Form, and fix them in place with Flatten PDF when they are final. A single run needs no account, your form travels over HTTPS, and on the free tier indox deletes the upload and the unlocked copy automatically within 24 hours after the job finishes.
